Building a Successful Real Estate Brokerage is an ART


Real estate brokerage ownership is no small job, and transforming one into a lucrative business takes dedication, hard work, and persistence. In a volatile business such as real estate, the highs and low can be drastic. Armed with the right tools, you can grow your business and enjoy the benefits of being a successful entrepreneur. The three areas of focus detailed below describe the ART of developing a powerful, profitable, and secure real estate brokerage.

You must Attract, Retrain, and Train great agents to be successful.  The brokerage supports you, you support the agents, the agents support clients, and in turn, the clients support the brokerage. In order to begin this cycle of business, it is first necessary to use ART to build a powerhouse team.

Attract— Ask yourself the following questions: Do you have a budget for recruiting?

Do you acknowledge accomplishments of the agents you wish to recruit? Do you have a system for using social media in your recruiting efforts? Answering these questions (and others) is just the beginning of attracting quality agents. Building a system to bring agents into your brokerage ensures you are always proactively searching for and acquiring new talent.

Retain— Do you have a structure in place to show your agents appreciation? Is there a transition plan in place for when new agents join your team? Are you helping your agents grow their business? New agents often revert back to their previous office or move to another within the first week if you do not have a good transition process. This time period is crucial to keep the agents you’ve attracted and help grow their (and your) business.

Train— What training systems and platforms do you have in place? Are you the trainer? If you delegate training, do you have a system for measuring and monitoring results? Don’t let the time and effort you spent attracting and retaining agents go to waste, invest in them and train your team to operate at its highest efficiency.
